Bali Trekking & Mt Batur Sunrise

Bali Mt Batur Sunrise Trek

As part of UNESCO’s Global Geopark Network, Mount Batur is an active volcano rising 1,717 meters (5,633 feet) above sea level. Your English-speaking driver will meet you at your hotel lobby and take you to the mountain base, where you’ll be greeted by your guide for a short safety briefing.

The trek begins in Toya Bungkah village before sunrise, under a sky full of shimmering stars. You’ll hike at a comfortable pace set by your group. Upon reaching the summit, you’ll witness the breathtaking moment when the horizon shifts from deep purple to vibrant shades of sapphire blue, fiery orange, and soft pink as the sun emerges over the eastern sea. In daylight, enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the volcanic valley and stunning sights of sacred Mount Agung, Mount Abang, and even Mount Rinjani across the waters of Lombok.

A light breakfast with coffee, tea, and water will be served to recharge you before heading down. During your descent, you’ll pass through dramatic black lava fields, recent lava flows, and captivating volcanic terrain. Along the way, admire the crater lake, lush greenery, and unique flora and fauna of Bali’s countryside. You’ll also have the chance to meet locals and gain insights into their traditions, history, and daily life through your guide’s stories.

The journey concludes back in Toya Bungkah village, followed by a visit to a Balinese coffee plantation. Here, you can sample the world-famous Luwak coffee, known as one of the rarest and most exclusive coffees. Finally, we’ll drive you back to your hotel so you can relax by the pool or spend the afternoon enjoying the beach.

For Balinese Hindus, life is guided by the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which means maintaining three harmonious relationships to achieve happiness: harmony between humans, harmony with the environment, and harmony with God.
